The Farrel-Wilson Homestead
Logo
Built in 1892, the Farrell-Wilson homestead reflects the simplified Victorian home style of a prosperous farming family.  It was designed by local carpenters, probably using many items purchased from mail-order catalogs such as Montgomery Ward.  Later additions to the main building and to the grounds give a rich sense of farming life at the turn of the century. James Pratt Architecture/Urban Design has restored the 13-building farm complex on 4.2 acres to operate as a museum for the Plano Heritage Association.

Services provided include:

  • Historic Structures Report
  • Master plan and budget studies for the buildings and four acre grounds
  • Participation with an historic interpretation specialist to define a museum program
  • Stabilization and restoration of the main building Construction or adaptation of three other structures for specific functions
