Criminal Courts Building - Dallas County | |

Listed on the National Register for Historic Buildings, the Dallas County Criminal Courts Building is a significant landmark in the city. James Pratt Architecture/Urban Design performed exterior stabilization and restoration on this 1890's structure originally designed by architect H.A. Overbeck. Included in the process was tuckpointing of all brick masonry, and cleaning of all exterior wall surfaces in accordance with standards for historic structures. Window openings were refinished and made weather-tight. Exterior bars over windows at jail locations were removed and missing bricks were replaced. The entire building weather envelope was then restored to remedy numerous leaks found inside. |
